Pashminas for All Seasons: Adapting Your Wardrobe to Changing Weather

A pashmina is a power accessory.

But most people don't know just how versatile it can be.

Read on for six incredible ideas to unlock its full potential.

Introduction:

As fashion enthusiasts, we are always seeking ways to stay stylish while adapting to the unpredictable weather. One versatile accessory that can seamlessly transition with you through the seasons is the trusty pashmina. Whether it's scorching summer heat, chilly air-conditioned environments, or the changing temperatures of spring, autumn, and winter, a pashmina can be your go-to companion. In this blog post, we will explore various scenarios where pashminas come to the rescue, ensuring you stay comfortable and fashionable no matter the weather.

Beating the Heat with Air-Conditioned Spaces (Summer):

When the summer sun is blazing outside but the air-conditioned indoors leave you feeling chilly, a lightweight pashmina becomes your best friend. Simply drape it over your shoulders to combat the cold air while maintaining a fashionable look. It's the perfect accessory to carry with you when the weather outside is hot, but the indoors are frosty.

Navigating Temperature Contrasts (Spring and Autumn):

Spring and autumn bring fluctuating temperatures, with warmth in the sun and a chill in the shade. A pashmina is an excellent solution for this unpredictable weather. On sunny days, you can wear it loosely around your neck to add a touch of style and protect against a chilly breeze. When the shade brings a sudden drop in temperature, you can wrap it around your shoulders for extra warmth and comfort.

Winter Essential: Beyond Just a Coat:

Winter weather calls for bundling up, and a pashmina can make a significant difference in battling the cold. Instead of relying solely on a heavy coat, layering a warm pashmina over your outfit adds an extra barrier of insulation. Its soft and cozy texture provides comfort while making a style statement. Pashminas are available in a range of thicknesses, allowing you to choose the perfect one for your winter wardrobe.

The Forgotten Hat Substitute:

Have you ever left the house without a hat, only to regret it later when the sun's glare becomes unbearable? In such moments, your pashmina can come to the rescue. With its generous size, you can easily pull it over your head, shielding your face and providing relief from the sun's rays. It's a practical solution that adds a touch of elegance to your overall look.

The Evening Chills:

As the sun sets and evening falls, the temperature can quickly drop, leaving you feeling chilly during outdoor gatherings or strolls. A pashmina serves as an elegant wrap that keeps you warm without compromising on style. Its versatility allows you to wear it as a shawl or drape it around your neck, instantly adding a layer of warmth and sophistication to your evening ensemble.

The Travel Companion:

Whether you're embarking on a long flight or exploring a new city, pashminas are ideal travel companions. They can be easily folded and packed in your bag, ready to be pulled out when needed. From chilly airplane cabins to unexpected weather changes during your trip, a pashmina ensures you're prepared and fashionably adaptable wherever your adventures take you.

Conclusion:

Pashminas truly are the ultimate accessory for all seasons. From providing relief from air-conditioned spaces in the summer to layering up during winter, they effortlessly adapt to changing weather conditions. These versatile pieces not only keep you comfortable but also add a touch of elegance to any outfit. So, the next time you're preparing for a day out, don't forget to include a pashmina in your wardrobe essentials. Stay stylish, adaptable, and ready for whatever Mother Nature throws your way!

Crystal Pashminas and Walking Sticks

Pashminas with Crystals  ( and walking sticks )

OVER 100 CRYSTALS

  • This pashmina stole is covered with more than 100 Swarovski Crystals. The crystals are shaped in such a way that they sparkle and catch the light, but they have rounded edges so they do not feel scratchy.

VERSATILE SIZE - 70X200CM (27X80INCHES)

  • Comfort and luxury is what you experience when you open up this stole and wrap it around you. It will keep you cosy from your neck to your waist.
  • This size of pashmina is long enough to be doubled up and pulled through the loop. This creates a smart appearance and also pushes oodles of cosy cashmere and silk up to your ears!
  • If in doubt, go for this size. It will serve you well. Have a browse through the photos to really see the size of this pashmina.

THE FABRIC - 70% CASHMERE / 30% SILK

  • The cashmere fibres themselves come from Inner Mongolia, the border region between China and Mongolia where the cashmere goats roam freely. The happier the goats, the better the yarn. The cashmere fibres in this stole are long and just 14-16 microns in diameter. We regularly test random samples to ensure the quality stays consistently high.
  • The cashmere and silk yarns are blended together to make a 28 count / 2ply yarn containing 70% cashmere and 30% silk. These proportions work very well, so that you get the best balance of the benefits of the silk in terms of appearance and strength, and keep the advantages of the cashmere in terms of the softness and warmth.
  • The silk adds a slight sheen to the fabric. Silk is a stronger fibre, so the fabric can woven slightly tighter than with the pure cashmere. The result is a more dense material which feels soft, but also drapes elegantly.

DYE AND FINISHING

  • Your pashmina stole is finished with hand twisted tassels at both ends.
  • We only use environmentally friendly AZO free Swiss dyes to give your large pashmina scarf it's colour.
  • If the colour or size that you want is not available in stock, we will happily make one especially for you. You are welcome to order your pashmina to be made without tassels. There is no extra charge for the BESPOKE SERVICE.

MADE WITH CARE

We have been working with the same people in Kathmandu (Nepal) since 2002, and your pashmina helps to provide decent long term jobs to over 50 people.
The factory is located at the edge of Kathmandu in a village area which is gradually being overtaken by the city itself. It still retains it's village charm with some traditional style Nepalese houses.
A large part of the population in that area are Tibetan exiles, so they have bought their culture and personalities to the area as well.
Staff turnover is exceptionally low because it is a nice place to work.
We think your purchase has a positive impact on Nepal, but we want you to buy from us because you will love your new pashmina for its quality, colour and feel.

Canes with Swarovski Elements

We love Swarovski crystals. They make everything so much better. We found some  beautiful crystal canes or walking sticks and you can even have your own design made for you

Pashminas For Weddings UK

Pashminas For Weddings UK

Why Buy Pashminas For Your Wedding?

1. They look great. Look at the picture of the bride and bridesmaids all with matching pashminas. It looks amazing.
2. They are practical. If it gets a bit cold, you can put it on, and if it gets a bit warm, you can take it off easily. Pashminas are light and soft and warm, so it is no burden to carry one with you. You can even easily tuck it in to a bag.
3. Pashminas make useful and well appreciated gifts. If your bridesmaids are wearing matching pashminas, then it is something they will treasure for a long time after the event. Cashmere mixed with silk makes the most luxurious fabric.
4. They are useful after the event. A pashmina can easily transform an outfit. Its just a handy accessory, that is also luxurious.

5. Pashminas are relatively inexpensive compared to some of the disposable items that people spend money on at weddings.

Which Pashmina Are Best For Your Wedding ?

We can’t tell you which pashminas to choose, but we can tell you what has been most popular with brides and bridesmaids in the last 15 years.
As you can see in the picture at the top, all the bridesmaids are wearing large scarves. This is the most popular size for pashminas for bridesmaids.
Most brides choose 70% Cashmere / 30% Silk pashminas for a wedding. These have a slight sheen compared to the pure cashmere pashminas.
Most people choose to have their pashminas with the traditional tassels, but you can have them made with open fringes or with a hemmed edge. It is your choice.
The most popular colour of pashminas for a wedding is natural white. This is the colour in the top picture and the one on the right
After the classic 7030 pashmina stole, the most popular style is the jacquard water pashmina. This is usually for the bride herself
Lots of parents of people getting married buy a special pashmina for the big day, its just a beautiful and handy accessory, especially if the British weather changes to cold!

Famous People Who Wear Pashminas

I keep seeing pictures of Celebrities, Royals and politicians wearing pashminas.

We always wonder if they are ours. We have delivered to Downing Street and Buckingham Palace before, but it could be for anyone who works at these addresses.

Pashminas from Mypashmina.co.uk

It's a pashmina shawl thing

They're a celebrity favourite, but will pashminas be a hit on the internet?
At a certain type of fashion or media gathering, a pashmina - a super-soft shawl made from goat cashmere blended with silk - has graced almost every pair of female shoulders in 2019. "Practically everybody has at least one," says Paul King, owner of Mypashmina and a retailer of pashminas in the UK.
Mypashmina began stocking them 16 years ago in 2003. Kate Moss and Jade Jagger wear pashminas all the time, Nicole Kidman bought 60 at once and the fashion assistants at Vogue House have such an insatiable lust for them that Mypashmina.co.uk , pashmina supplier par excellence, was nicknamed The Pashmina man on account of his almost daily deliveries.
Believe it or not, this is not the start of the phenomenon. While there are no doubt hundreds of women who have never heard of them and, frankly, couldn't care less, pashminas are about to take the high street by storm. This spring, Marks & Spencer introduced a small number into a few key stores "to test the market". They sold out straight away. From autumn, M&S will sell pashminas in major stores nationwide for just £99 - double the typical price at Mypashmina. Debenhams has two ranges in the pipeline. The first, designed by Philip Treacy, will be in stores from the end of July in pink, silver, lavender and pale blue, for only £100; the second arrives in September.
The key to the pashmina phenomenon, according to Paul, is "the sheer deliciousness of them. Just like we love to eat chocolate because it tastes good, women love to wear pashminas because they feel fantastic." But it's not just the way the cashmere and silk feels, it's the exclusive aura it confers. "They are very tactile," says Caroline of M&S, "but also very visible. They smack of sophistication."
The pashmina craze has undeniably Sloaney origins (one wearer told me the popularity of cyclamen pink was due to the fact that it "looks lovely with blonde hair") but their Eastern ethnicity prevents them looking too King's Road. These days, they are said to be almost as popular with readers of this newspaper as with those of Tatler.
There are practical reasons for the success of the pashmina: few women have an evening coat any more and the pashmina solves the problem of what to wear over a smart dress on cool evenings at summer parties and weddings. It is not just for eveningwear, though: Shani Fry, accessories head buyer for Debenhams, expects customers will also be wearing pashminas "to tone down a tailored suit".
It's not just whether you've got a pashmina, of course, but how you wear it. Shawl-like is fine with a slinky dress but over daytime clothes it can make you look like an eastern European granny on her way to the vegetable market. The done thing by day is to wear your pashmina as a scarf, folded in half lengthways with the fringed ends looped through in precisely the method intimidating Parisian schoolgirls used to make their scarves look dauntingly stylish when I was on the French exchange. Apparently there's "a little twisty motion" you do before you fold it in half that "makes all the difference", one devotee told me.
Even on the hottest days, some can't bear to be separated from their pashminas. On a summer afternoon in Westbourne Grove, a friend spotted two girls wearing their pashminas as sarongs. (But that's west London for you: I prefer the girl I saw in a pub in Islington wearing an Arsenal wall-hanging as a sarong.)

Pashmina mania

...meanwhile, is spreading from the core group of affluent thirtysomethings. Welstead reports that girls are being bought them for their 18th birthday; jewel colours and powder blue (anointed this season's pashmina shade by Vogue) are popular with younger women, while older customers love beige and cream. For next season, Welstead reckons his pashminas shaded from light to dark grey will do well, while Lewin expects to sell lots of winter white.

The pashmina market

...is expanding in all directions. Sophia Swire sells extra-soft pashminas for babies at a very grown-up £399, while Gieves, the new diffusion range from Savile Row tailors Gieves & Hawkes, features charcoal grey pashminas for men at £350. And it's not just a London thing: pashminas are doing brisk business at Barney's in New York.
The pashmina looks set to take the high street by storm. It has been called the 90s equivalent of the 80s Hermès scarf, but Sam Robinson, owner of The Cross in west London, which sells Welstead's pashminas, likens it to the Filofax: "A luxury item but ever so practical. You can't cope without one!" Of course not.

Women’s Accessories Retailer Donates 600 Pashminas to Patients Through the Pashmina for Patients Project.

A story from USA about Pashminas.....

MIDDLEBURG, Va. (PRWEB) June 29, 2018
In a joint effort to provide some comfort to patients undergoing cancer treatment at local hospitals, lou lou boutiques, a Northern VA based retailer of women’s accessories, donated 600 pashmina scarves to Howard County Hospital and INOVA Fairfax Hospital.
This donation was the culmination of the Pashminas for Patients project, which donated one pashmina scarf for every one sold by the company in the month of May. lou lou offered its customers the opportunity to contribute to the cause by purchasing a pashmina scarf and the option of writing a note of support.
“Our goal was to get to 500 scarves, and we were blown away by the participation and enthusiasm of our customers. We ended up at 600 at the end of the month,” said lou lou owner, Tara Wegdam. “We were very excited to find a unique way to give some kind of comfort to people going through a really hard time, even if it’s something as small as a pashmina scarf. The Pashmina scarves come in different colors and can be styled in many ways to keep patients warm while brightening their day”. “Many of our customers wrote a personal note at the time of purchase to a patient they did not know. It was hearth warming to see their support”, according to Wegdam.
Headquartered in Middleburg, Virginia, lou lou Boutiques is an East-Coast based retailer of women’s fashion accessories, including jewelry, scarves, hats, and handbags. With 30 retail locations in 8 states and a growing online presence, lou lou has become the go to place for latest fashion trends. My second pashmina from this company and as with my first, I absolutely LOVE it. Beautiful quality, drapes wonderfully and the colour is just as I hoped. I’m really pleased with the swatch book (such a great idea!) which I’m going to keep… I can see I’ll want to buy more from Mypashmina in the future. This time my pashmina was bespoke (with a hemmed finish) and if I have a small reservation (but I’m still giving 5 stars) it’s that the stitching is slightly off true at the beginning and end of the hems. This is intended more as constructive criticism than a complaint; it is a LOVELY pashmina. Thank you!

Paul King – 25th January 2018
Hello. Thanks so much for your comment. I will pass along the comment about the start of the stitching to the guys in Kathmandu. Every little thing like this helps us get closer to our aim, so I really appreciate it. Thanks for all the warmth in your message too.. motivational 🙂

Bought 2 pashminas for the first time from this company. One regular stock which arrived very quickly, one colour to order which took slightly longer. Both are great quality and a lovely large size. I ordered the swatch book before choosing colours which is a great idea. I will be ordering again.

I have bought several pashmina stoles over the years, as well as cashmere scarves and jumpers. Always great service, always beautiful products, the pashminas particularly. I wear mine so machine the winter, and have one which I wear “everyday” as well as others which I wear as the fancy takes me. LOVE My Pashmina.

Paul King – 21st February 2018
Thanks very much. It is great to hear that we are achieving the consistency we are aiming for. Thank you.

Hello,
everything is fine: size, feel, delivery speed, except for the colour, as it does not exactly match the image. I think I would need the swatchbook the next time, but I guess lending it to me as a customer in Germany would be a bit complicated, or should I buy it? Fantastic customer service!

I have ordered many of these scarfs in the last 5 or more years. The quality is excellent. And even though delivery took much longer than usual it was well worth waiting for. I recommmend buying a swatchbook before choosing the colour.

This is my third bespoke pashmina from this company, but first classic one. I’ve ordered biggest size in clematis blue. It’s absolutely gorgeous, the softness, lightness, subtle sheen and most beautiful drape of this shawl made me quite a center of attention. Color is perfect for my skin tone(pale and cool undertones) and goes with pretty much everything On side note I have purchased it together with a jumper for my son and was very surprised to get the jumper delivery in a week at no extra cost (and we are talking New Zealand). Pashmina took about 6 weeks which is what I expected, again delivered with no extra charges, not many companies would do that.
